On one of the coldest days of the year (January 27, 2010), the village of Westmont decided to test the limits of EZ Street cold asphalt. When I say “one of the coldest days of the year”, I mean one of the coldest days of the year in Chicago. As you can see, the material poured directly from the back of the truck in a workable state. Workers were able to rake the asphalt into place despite the extreme temperatures. A roller was used to compact the asphalt. This was a utility cut filled with concrete and then overlaid with EZ Street cold asphalt.
